"Well, all of the films are ruined." This article is about scrapped or cancelled content that was never officially made. As such, none of the information here is canon to the series.

Scrapped Content includes various scenes, jokes, characters, etc. that were originally planned to be in certain episodes of Clone High but were ultimately cut from the final product for various reasons. Lots of the cut content can be seen being archived or documented at Clone High.com or on the Clone High Twitter page, wherein writers share deleted scenes and other ideas they had that never made it to the finished product.

Clone High.com also included a lot of links to animatics for deleted scenes and audio cut dialogue on their website. Unfortunately, a lot of the links have been removed with the deletion of their website in 2020, making them lost media.

One of the behind-the-scenes terms the writers use is the "Historical Joke Graveyard", which compiles all of the historical references they initially planned to have in the episode but were also cut for various reasons.

Season 1

Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand

• The episode was originally going to open with the Narrator saying the following dialogue; "Tonight, on a very special "Clone High", a main character must make an important choice, a supporting character has an amusing side story, while a mysterious subplot reveals the shocking truth behind Clone High." This was cut for time and replaced with shortened dialogue.
• In his debut appearance, Julius Caesar was originally going to say "Veni, vidi, booyah!" in response to JFK telling him that he "invaded Marilyn Monroe's bay of pigs". It is unknown why this was cut.
• Jimi Hendrix and Nostradamus were initially going to debut in this episode. Jimi was to say "What's the word, Nostradamus?" to which Nostradamus would reply, "I knew you were gonna say that!".
  • Although this scene was cut, Jimi Hendrix and Nostradamus would still appear in the episodes "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" and "Makeover Makeover Makeover: the Makeover Episode", respectively (the latter of which would also include Nostradamus' line, albeit in a different context).
• In the first scene at The Grassy Knoll, JFK was originally going to remark that he does not like the place or that it gives him the creeps, referencing to the establishment being modeled after the site of the original JFK's death.
• Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and Stevie Ray Vaughan were set to appear at JFK's Party and form a cover band of Italian house music group Black Box. Gandhi would fail to understand which band they were a cover of, assuming they were covering Hall & Oates. The network suggested they change the cover band to something more modern to the Backstreet Boys or NSYNC so that younger viewers would understand, which they did. Ultimately, the scene was cut.
  • Buddy Holly would still make an appearance in the final version of "Plane Crazy: Gate Expectations".

Episode Two: Election Blu-Galoo

• The scene where Abe and Joan discuss the moat Cleo built around the Special Ed Classroom was initially longer. Abe said that before the moat was installed, the Special Ed Classroom was walled off by an electric fence guarded by snipers. Cleo was also to thank the National Acid Company for supplying the acid for the moat, Exclamation Exotic Pets for supplying the piranhas to swim in the acid, and Exclamation Surf and Sport for supplying acid-proof wet suits for the piranhas to wear while swimming.
• When Principal Scudworth was reporting to The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures, he was going to bring up how the clone of Toulouse Lautrec was being put on hormones to help him with his growth process.
• At The Grassy Knoll, after Joan said that she couldn't believe nobody was interested in running for student body in a school full of world leaders, there was initially going to be a joke involving George Washington and Winston Churchillwearing gangsta clothes. The two were to briefly consider getting involved with student government, only to decide on doing something more fun (either blowing up mailboxes with fireworks, smoking cigarettes behind the dumpster, and/or sniffing airplane glue).
• For his campaign speech, Abe was going to say "Because a real leadership, like the kind my clonefather had, is taking a stand on something you believe in regardless of the political consequences, so long as it does not anger the South too much".
• When Gandhi got addicted to X-Stream Blu, he was originally going to start going by "Xandhi" to make his name sound more extreme. The pronunciation of this name would change every time it was spoken, ranging from "Zandhi", "Ksandhi", and "Ecksandhi".
• When JFK got ahead in the polls, there was originally going to be a joke on the "spinning newspaper" trope. The writers pitched a number of ideas for how they would parody it but none of them were used;
  • The camera would zoom out to reveal that the newspaper was sitting on a Lazy Susan.
  • It would turn out these shots are the POV of Gandhi, who is running around in circles around the newspaper as it lied on the floor.
  • One of the subheadings was going to read "Spinning Newspaper Gag Still Funny".
• There was a cut lyric from Marilyn Manson's song, "Food Pyramid" that went as follows; "The ancient pharaohs were not too bright, they say./ They believed in more than one god, and let the Jews all get away./ But they made one contribution that I live by to this day./ It’s the food pyramid, and it’s endorsed by the USDA!".
• After Manson finished his song, there was originally going to be a final scene of the clones all learning their lesson of how they should not sell out by commercializing things to market junk food. They would all then immediately contradict this by segueing this into an ad for Corn Nuts. This was ultimately cut for time.
  • During writing, the writers contacted Golden Peanut Co., the company that makes Corn Nuts, and asked for their permission to use this in the episode. The company was delighted to hear that they would be giving them free publicity and agreed. They also thanked them by sending the writers a whole box full of free bags of Corn Nuts.

A.D.D.: the Last D is for Disorder

• JFK and Cleo were going to have some extended dialogue for their argument regarding the latter's alleged relationship with President Dog, where JFK would storm off and Cleo would try to chase him down. President Dog would also run off to chase a squirrel with a jar of peanut butter, leading Cleo to chase after him too.
• Principal Scudworth's sideplot about him being a school councilor was was originally going to involve him wearing a fake mustache and a sombrero and go by the name "Señor Counselorioso". This was changed to include Mr. Butlertron's sweater vest, since the future episode "Homecoming: A Shot in D'Arc" was already going to include a fake mustache in Joan's story and they did not want things to be too repetitive.
• In the scene of Scudworth and Butlertron walking down the hallway, there was initially going to be appearances from Groucho Marx, Karl Marx, and Isaac Newton that were cut for time.
• When Toots made his speech at the PTA, he was going to say that he was trying to go to DiFiore's Italian restaurant. However, due to legal reasons, DiFiore's refused to allow the name of the restaurant to be used in the show, so the writers had to replace DiFiore's with the generic "Giovanni's" Italian restaurant.
  • Donald Faison was not in the studio at the time they had to re-record his dialogue, so instead, Phil Lord voice acted Toots' use of the word "Giovanni's" in a Donald Faison impression. The impression was so spot-on and the transition was so seamless that it is incredibly hard to notice.
• Before getting Tom Green as this episode's guest star, Tom Arnold was slated to make the guest appearance instead. However, he was too busy working on The Best Damn Sports Show Period at the time. Other A.D.D. spokesmen were considered to star in the episode, such as David Arquette and Regis Philbin.
• When Tom Green showed up at the Awareness Fair, everyone was going to start gossiping about him and his A.D.D.. One of the background characters was going to murmur "I heard Tom Green had sex with a monkey with A.D.D., and that's how it got started!".
• Several alternate endings for this episode were pitched before the writers settled on the gay kiss between Abe and Gandhi;
  • The clones would have learned that A.D.D. is okay...in moderation.
    • The "in moderation" line would later be recycled into the moral of "Litter Kills: Litterally".
  • Everyone would realize the joke moral that "they all had a little A.D.D." themselves and each clone would have a ridiculous way of justifying how they had A.D.D.. Cleo would say that she has "A.D.D. of the Heart", which is why she can't choose between Abe and JFK as her lover, JFK would say he has A.D.D. of the penis, which is why he can't have sex with just one woman, and so on.
  • The episode could have also ended with a voice-over narration from Tom Green, saying "Over a bazillion American children suffer from A.D.D. This episode of Clone High is dedicated to those brave, squirmy youngsters who liven up boring classrooms everywhere. I’m Tom Green and I make more money than a doctor.".

Film Fest: Tears of a Clone

• During the riot, the clone of Cy Young was going to pelt Abe and Mr. Sheepman with apples.
• When discussing dinner plans with The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures, Principal Scudworth was going to joke that the waiters at Olive Garden all looked like Tony Danza, and Mr. Butlertron was going to add that some of them actually were Tony Danza.
• Scudworth was also going to call the Olive Garden a "racist Italian stereotype". The term "racist" was changed to "delightful", as standards and practices thought that "racist" was too strong of a word.
• The end of the first act, with Abe giving Joan a speech about why she should enter the Film Festival, was going to end with a cheap fart joke. Abe was going to lift up his leg and fart and the outro card was going to read "Clone High USA: For Your Emmy Consideration". Writer (later showrunner) Erica Rivinoja thought this joke was too low-brow and had it replaced with the joke about the Sheriff awkwardly staring at them the whole time.
• A deleted scene featured JFK attempting to submit a rented copy of Mannequin Two: On the Move into the Film Fest and getting rejected by Thomas Edison. View the animatic here.
• An alternate ending for the episode was going to be that the only person who understood Joan's film was a German sitcom producer named Aaron Schpelling, who gave Joan an opportunity to create her own German sitcom. After the Narrator finished his "next episode" announcement, he was going to tell the audience to stay tuned for the series premiere of Joan's new sitcom, "Shnitzel Hausen", staring David Hasselhoff.

Sleep of Faith: La Ru D'Awakening

• This episode was going to begin with a montage of Abe waking up and going through his regular morning routine, while "Don't Get Me Wrong" by The Pretenders played. This was cut for time.
• The official terms PSAT, Scantron, and Stan Kaplan were going to be used in the episode, only for MTV's legal department to bar them from using these brand names and instead replace them with PXJT, Scan Grade, and Doug Prepcourse, respectively.
• The writers never came up with an idea for what "PXJT" stood for, and there was originally going to be a running gag where the characters did not know what it stood for either, and all made their own various guesses as to what it could mean.
• Phil and Chris wanted Johnny Cash to guest star as Doug Prepcourse, but he declined the role, not wanting to play a character who was responsible for killing a police officer. The script was later tweaked to have the sheriff survive the crash and instead be crippled for life. This was still not enough, and Doug Prepcourse was recast as John C. McGinley.
• Gandhi's Foster Mom was originally going to ask Gandhi if he was going on another hunger strike when she noticed he had hardly touched his kugel. This joke was scrapped as the writers all thought it was a little too on-the-nose.
• A deleted scene featured Principal Scudworth commenting on just how good of an idea it was to have Scan Grade be fueled by lead from number two pencils.
• There was going to be a scene where a sleep-deprived Abe went to see George Washington Carver to get some caffeinated nuts to keep him awake. This was cut for time.
• A deleted scene features Harriet Tubman complaining about the culturally biased questions on the PXJTs, with JFK helping her cheat by giving her the answer. View the animatic here.
• After JFK's car flipped over and crashed just short of the finish line, Nostradamus and Walt Disney were going to show up at the finish line. Nostradamus was going to "predict" that Abe was going to win and Disney was going to chide him for making such an obvious prediction like this. The joke was cut as the writers felt they had already done enough with Nostradamus.

Homecoming: A Shot in D'Arc

• At the start of the episode, when Gandhi was performing as DNA Dan, he was going to do a backflip and yell "Geronimooooooo!". Geronimo, a clone in a Native American headdress, would show up and ask, "Yeah?".
  • Although Geronimo never appeared in any episode of the original series, he was recycled into a second-generation clone in the reboot, albeit with a different design, compared to how he was described in the original scripts.
• There was initially going to be a joke about Dan Patrick and Chris Berman making out. This joke was cut for time.
• Before coming up with the idea of GESH High School, the rival school of Clone High High School was going to be a second school also called "Clone High", where every single student was a clone of Shaquille O'Neal, albeit in various different outfits, sizes, races, and genders.
• The joke with Brian was going to be a much longer bait-and-switch joke, It would begin with Principal Scudworth eating some soup from Colonel Principal, which the latter would reveal is actually "cream of Brian". Scudworth would drop to his knees and yell "No!" before Colonel Principal laughed as said that it was actually just "cream of brains ... Brian's brains!", making Scudworth drop and yell "No!" once again. Colonel Principal would laugh and admit it was actually just the brains of a cow ... "The brains of a cow that are Brian's brains!", and Scudworth would once again, drop to his knees and yell "No!". Finally, Colonel Principal would admit that he never did any such thing with Brian and that he was not only alive, but currently enrolled in public school. Scudworth would then exclaim "Public school? No!".
• When Abe was doing basketball tricks for Cleo, he was originally going to name his basketball trick "The Great Emasculator".
• When Joan (as John) was telling her sexual conquest story, she mentioned how she had sex with a girl at Niagara Falls. JFK cut her off to say that Liberace had a girlfriend there once. Liberace would nervously stutter about his clearly made-up "girlfriend" before changing the subject back to Joan's story.
• During the Homecoming Basketball Game, Principal Scudworth would get mad that the referee fouled once of his team's shots and sarcastically asked the referee "Are you blind!?", only to see that the referee was none other than Helen Keller. Helen Keller would scribble down on a notepad "SHAME ON YOU" and show it to Scudworth, making him bow his head in shame.
• Henry VIII wasn't in the original script for the episode. His role was instead going to be fulfilled by a goat named "Roger". The writers changed this to a dolphin named "Henry VIII", to keep up with this show's running gags of featuring dolphins and historical references in every episode.
• As suggested by the title and several lines of dialogue in the episode, there was originally going to be a Homecoming Dance after the Homecoming Basketball Game, which was ultimately cut for time. In it, Joan would have been crowned prom queen and king, with "John Dark" as the king and she would have to awkwardly dance with herself in the spotlight to "Caribbean Queen" by Billy Ocean. This scene was fully storyboarded and voice-acted in an animatic, which can be seen here.
  • A running gag throughout this episode would be for the clones to mention multiple different proms that happened throughout the schoolyear, including an "Early Winter Prom", "Late Winter/Early Spring Prom", "Mid-Semester Prom", and a "Post-Prom Cleanup Prom".
• Instead of the "Next Time on Clone High" tag, there was initially going to be a theme song for Geshy, where he would go around, killing a bunch of animals. Unfortunately, this was also cut for time.

Plane Crazy: Gate Expectations

• There were going to be some differences in the premise of Scudworth's sideplot. Originally, the plot would just have been about him trying to eat a sandwich in peace, before being attacked by Skunky-Poo. MTV said this plot was too random and needed to connect more with the students of Clone High. This was later rewritten to The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures informing Scudworth that some Chinese scientists would be coming to review the school and that they needed it to be peaceful and quiet when they showed up, only for Skunky-Poo to make tons of noise and Scudworth to keep injuring himself while trying to get rid of him. Although this appeased the network, it was rewritten again to the plot we have now.
• A running gag in Scudworth's sideplot with Skunky-Poo, would have been that whenever Skunky-Poo entered the scene, Scudworth would smell him and, not knowing Skunky was present, accuse Mr. Butlertron of farting. Every time he did, he would use a different euphemism such as "letting one fly", "stepping on a gas valve", and "squeaking one out", even calling Mr. B a "stink bot".
• Before getting Ashley Angel to guest star, the crew considered the possibility of having a generic character named "Professor Star" play his role in the episode, satirizing the show's constant barrage of guest stars.
• Gandhi's autographed picture of Sarah Michelle Gellar was initially going to be signed under her character's name "Buffy".
  • Writer Tom Martin was upset that it wasn't signed under the name "Buffy", as he felt that it ruined one third of the joke.
• During one of the scenes where Abe was chasing Cleo down to the airport, he was going to pull over at an Arby's and waste time eating a sandwich there, before getting back in his car to continue rushing to the airport.

A Room of One's Clone: The Pie of the Storm

• When Joan was living under the bleachers, there was initially a scene with Principal Scudworth going up to her and saying "You can stay there through the Under the Sea Prom, but not during the Under the Bleachers Prom."

Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts

• Jack Black's character was originally going to just be a caricature of himself. However, Jack Black said that he'd rather voice act for a stand-in character, on account of not wanting himself to be portrayed as a drug addict, Thus, the Jack Black-esque character of Larry Hardcore was created.
• Gandhi was going to fight off the Live-Action Cat with an Italian pencil (played by Don Novello) as a sword, but because Indigo (the Live-Action Cat) was being uncooperative, Phil and Chris decided it would have been too much work to get enough footage for this one scene and decided to leave it as the short scene it was.
  • Don Novello would still remain a guest star in a future episode, voicing the leader of the Prisoners from "Litter Kills: Litterally".
• Before settling on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen being the Siamese twins that Gandhi encountered this episode, the writers had a laundry list of other dynamic duos to consider for the job, including;

  • The Barbi Twins
  • Serena and Venus Williams
  • Martina Hingis and Matrina Navratalova
  • Renee Zellweger and Jewel
  • Leelee Sobieski and Helen Hunt

  • Becky and Becky #2 from Roseanne (Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke)
    • Incidentally, Sarah Chalke was one of the recurring voice actors on the show.
  • Lucy Liu and Lisa Ling
  • Barbara and Jenna Bush
  • Paula Abdul and Jennifer Lopez
  • Punky Brewster and Blossom
  • Tootie and Natalie from The Facts of Life
  • Tracey Gold and Missy Gold, who, together, would be known as "The Golden Daughters of the Sun".
• There was also an entire laundry list of other ideas for what Daniel Feldspar could represent, before settling on the Australian stereotype, including;
  • Bowser, from Super Mario Bros.
  • A gay weightlifter who plays the piano
  • A kind-hearted dragon with a touchy-feely attitude who is as nice as possible to Gandhi, even though he is about to eat him. He'd have a monologue that went "Listen, I don’t want to kill ya, but, you know how it is. Let’s just get it over with. I’ve love to help ya out, but you’re the hero, you got an amulet, and that’s very nice, but I’m a dragon. No hard feelings. Can I get you anything, first? A bagel, biali, a hot kinish? You don’t want to die on an empty stomach, believe me. Are you comfortable? As a formality, I have to challenge you to a duel, but ... why don’t we talk about you for a little bit first ..." This would be followed with a dissolve to later, when Gandhi would talk about how much pressure his family puts on him.

• When Abe's Foster Dad confronted Abe about his raisin smoking, he would ask why he can't act more like his little foster brother, Cesar Chavez. Abe's foster brother, Cesar Chavez would then show up and exclaim "Uvas no!", which is Spanish for "No grapes!".
• When the parents got high on raisins, Abe's Foster Dad yelled "Who wants to order pizza!?" and then repeatedly yell "Pizza!" 200 times. Despite being recorded, this was cut for time. [1]
• After Larry Hardcore made a joke about The Backstreet Boys being gay, Joan was intended to sarcastically remark "Okay, save it for open mic night."

Season 2

Sexy-Ed

• There was some cut dialogue between Abe Lincoln and Topher Bus, where Topher told Abe that he was actually a virgin. He also mentions that he's in love with Harriet Tubman, Frida Kahlo, Wu Zetian, and Cleopatra, who he claims to be the strongest women of their respective races. The animatic can be seen here.
• There was intended to be a short scene at the Harrucius Major Rager, where Topher would pursue Joan and tried to ask her out, only for her to completely ignore him, looking for Abe, before the former crashes into a pole. The animatic can be seen here.

Season 3

Money Can Buy Me Love: Stupid Is as Cupid Does

• The ending scene where Joan and Confucius kiss was originally going to feature the song "Kiss Me" by Sixpense, but this was likely cut due to them failing to get the rights to use the song.

Cyranos: A Portmant-Opus

• An unused animatic sees Cleo and Frida having a picnic together, where Cleo tells Frida that she plans on having them spend two days at the Lake Exclamation! resort (and landfill). However, Frida worries that she might not be able to go, as it would be hard to get permission from her foster dad, Mr. Kim. The entire animatic can be seen here here.
• When it was revealed that Harriet was working as Frida's Cyrano during her breakup scene with Cleo, there was originally going to be a line spoken by Harriet's Foster Mom telling her that the FBI was at the door. Harriet's Foster Mom was not seen on screen, but would have talking with a very Americanized southern accent.
