MTV is an American video channel that provides programs (such as drama and reality) relating to or influenced by music. It is owned by Paramount Skydance. MTV co-produced Clone High (original) along with Canadian animation powerhouse Nelvana and broadcasted part of the original series between January-March 2003. The decision to cancel the show was made in part by them, as Tom Freston, then-head of Viacom, stated in 2014 that "[the protesters] basically threatened that they'd revoke MTV's broadcasting license in India if they didn't take the show off the air".
In 2016, MTV Classic (formerly VH1 Classic until rebrand), a nostalgia-themed digital spinoff of MTV, aired the entirety of Clone High to honor its launch in August 1st 2016 because of MTV's 35th anniversary.
